El mar terminó por devorarse parte del territorio mexicano. Casi todo Tabasco y parte de Veracruz desapareció. Lo que se conocía como México ya no lo era. La negrura llegó hasta las ciudades cercanas al golfo, entró en casas, en plazas comerciales, en cuerpos de enfermos, el fluido corría a prisas entre museos. Tras el inminente desastrenatural en el Golfo de México, algunas piezas arqueológicas Olmecas cuentan su propia historia a traves de la transmutación al tocar el petroleo. La negrura habita todo a su alrededor.

The blackness reached cities near the gulf, entered houses, shopping malls, the bodies of the sick —the fluid ran hurriedly through museums. Following the imminent natural disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, some Olmec archaeological pieces tell their own story through transmutation upon contact with oil. The darkness becomes part of the landscape.
